There is a small issue with this feed though, once you have installed some game from this feed you will get "File already exists." error with all other games in this feed. This is a small problem with how onArcade check for existing games, it does not prevent you from installing other games and it will be fixed in 2.4.1.]]>

Time to upgrade your sites again. I have finished onArcade 2.4, you can now download it from clients area. It has several new features and bug fixes, so it should be worth the upgrade.

What is new?

New template files without PHP code



onArcade 2.4 has new template files that are completely without PHP code. Template code is basically the same as before when editing using template editor in admin panel, but now you can do this with any editor you wish. This should make template editing much easier for everybody.

Game feed auto downloader



Now you can set up a cron job to automatically download new games to your site from game feeds.

Cups



Now you and your site members can organize cups. Cup is an event where participants compete in several games (currently up to 5 per cup) to earn points and the one with the most points in the end is the winner. See http://www.onarcade.net/ for examples of cups.

Notifications



onArcade now has notifications system where you get notifications about scores, cups, friends and profile comments.

Translations

Now it is easy to download and update translations through onArcade admin panel. Translating website is not yet completely finished, so I won’t release it publicly yet, but if you would like to make a public translation then let me know and I will give you access to that website. Once finished it will work like wikipedia: everybody can start translations and collaborate on other translations.

* At the moment there is no upgrading script. If there are no bigger problems in beta then I will probably release it soon, if beta is not stable enough then I will release it with final.
* At the moment only Mochi feed is available (over 20 000 games), Kongregate and FlashGameDistribution games will appear within a week or 2. I might also add couple of other feeds in the future (any suggestions?). To use Mochi scores you need to insert your Publisher ID and Publisher Secret Key on settings page.
* Searching for plugs only works with onArcade 2.3 sites because other sites do not have plugmap.
* At the moment only Onarcade template is available, I will be releasing other before or with final. I am also hoping to release template upgrading instructions (from 2.2), but that is not yet a promise.
