Why is onArcade better than GameSiteScript?
Anyone? Do you believe that the highscores support is better?
Do all highscore games work?
My number one problem with this script is the lack of template support.
How would you recommend getting a completely NEW template?
But really.. why is it better than GameSiteScript?
Thanks
I might be little bit biased, so my opinion probably isn't the most reliable, but:
if I am not mistaking then GSS only supports IPB v2 games (I could be mistaking), onArcade supports phpBB-Amod, IPB v2, IPB v3 and IPB v32 games.
All games? No, there are all kinds of formats, but IPB v2 and v32 are the most popular, so most games should be available in either of these two formats (to avoid cheating you should prefer v32).
onArcade has template system, but it is more difficult to use than Smarty or some other huge template system. But on the other hand it is much more powerful: you can use PHP everywhere on your site.
But why is it better? I guess one thing would be price. onArcade costs €44, but if you want to use GSS then you have to pay for everything (game packs, copyright removal, scores system...). Also onArcade has better membership system with User CP and proper PM system. There are many more smaller difference, like onArcade has contact page, failed login quota, more RSS feeds, but since I have never used GSS then it is difficult for me to compare these two scripts.
SOLD!
I like the highscores support and some of the additional features. Your response more than anything is making the sale.
Thanks
